It’s always easy to find a stylish luxury sedan here at Keyes Lexus. One of our favorites is the 2018 Lexus LS 500. This distinctive model serves as a bit of a flagship car for the Lexus brand, and now it looks like this vehicle could soon offer some new engine options. If you want to go green in style, the Lexus LS might be perfect for you.
It’s no secret that many drivers, especially in California, have been on the lookout for greener cars lately. A new Lexus LS could offer these drivers exactly what they’re looking for, along with the tech and luxury you’ve come to expect from Lexus models. A brand new green powertrain could be in the works and the current hybrid system may get a boost.
Right now the Lexus LS hybrid is available with a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that can put out more than 350 horsepower. That means that the Lexus LS 500h can go from zero to sixty-two miles per hour in just 5.7 seconds. That’s impressive, but it looks like the Lexus brand wants to give this model even more power to play with. If you thought green cars were boring, your mind is going to change.
The Lexus LS could soon offer a hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain as well. This model would produce zero emissions aside from water vapor. Hydrogen isn’t a widespread power source right now, but the recent Lexus LF-LC Concept shows us what a hydrogen-powered Lexus car could look like. The Lexus LS would be the first vehicle in its segment to offer this kind of green powertrain. We can’t wait to see what other green upgrades are coming to our favorite Lexus models!
