If your vehicle isn’t properly holding a charge, a Lexus EV service visit may be in order. We can help you diagnose issues with your charging port, charging cable, or battery — all of which could be the source of the problem. Whatever the case, Keyes Lexus is here to help you diagnose the problem and get back to safe, efficient traveling.
Check Your Charging Port
Make sure you check the indicator light on your charging port when you plug the cable in. A green light indicates that the vehicle is charging properly, while a blue light means you’re done charging. If there’s an orange or red light and you know the cable is good, that shows a problem with the port that our service team should address.
Check Your Charging Cable
Your charging cable may also need to be replaced if it isn’t properly transmitting electricity from the port to the vehicle. Ordinarily, the box on the cable emits a blue light when it’s charging. An orange or red light indicates that the cable isn’t charging correctly; if this happens, try disconnecting the cable at both ends and reconnecting to see if the light changes. Otherwise, you may need a new cable.
Check Your Battery
Charging problems could also be down to your battery. If the connection between the battery and the charging port is faulty or there’s another electrical problem, the vehicle may not hold a charge properly. Bring your vehicle in for service immediately if this is the case. We’ll run system diagnostics and address the problem at its root, whether it’s a connection, the cooling system, or something else.
