A Lexus subscription program could come in a few different forms. It could be exclusive to a single vehicle, which is the only definitive plan that’s been announced so far. That vehicle is the Lexus UX. This subcompact crossover just made its debut at the New York Auto Show. It’ll offer many of the features you’ve come to expect from a Lexus model, including a useful infotainment system and Amazon Alexa integration. It’s also not just the first Lexus vehicle you can subscribe to, it’s also the first to offer Apple CarPlay™. Though we’re not sure how this subscription program will work just yet, we’ll probably get some more details when this model goes on sale later this year.
If the subscription service expands to other vehicles, that could offer some interesting options. It could mean that drivers get to sample more of the Lexus lineup and experience what each vehicle has to offer. You could end up driving a hybrid sedan or coupe for your daily commute, and then switch over to an SUV or crossover for a weekend getaway with the family.
