While we’re thrilled four of our cars earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating, it’s worth noting that the 2017 Lexus CT 200h earned the IIHS’s second highest rating, Top Safety Pick.  To receive this designation, the new Lexus CT 200h had to earn the score of good in five crash tests conducted by the IIHS and its frontal collision mitigation system had to get a mark of advanced or superior.  To receive the TSP+ ranking, the four vehicles listed above had to get similar marks in the same tests.  The automobiles had to get a rating of acceptable or good for their headlights as well.

What does it mean for a vehicle to earn the rating of TSP+ or TSP?  It means the automobile is one of the safest in its respective class.
