Trying to predict anything in the automotive industry is like trying to forecast the weather, or reading tea leaves. It’s usually pretty hard to predict with any degree of accuracy what’s coming. Not this time. Keyes Lexus is confident in one thing for 2018: if you’re looking for a luxury car near Los Angeles, 2018 will be the year of the Lexus LS.
Why are we so sure? Two major auto shows — the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and the Geneva Motor Show — featured debuts of Lexus LS models. Detroit saw the all-new Lexus LS 500, with its twin-turbocharged V6 engine. Geneva marked the debut of the Lexus LS 500h, a hybrid that will replace the current Lexus LS 600h. Now the Lexus 500 F SPORT is just days away from being shown at the New York International Auto Show.
The fact that each model got its own time in the spotlight suggests that this isn’t just a run of the mill unveiling. The Lexus brand is clearly putting as much effort into promoting their flagship sedan as they did into its design and build.
Like its siblings, the Lexus LS 500 F SPORT has a sleeker, lower profile than the last generation. It’s a sedan that looks more like a coupe. The stiffer version of the Lexus GA-L architecture will provide unmatched responsiveness and handling, and the F SPORT trim will be available on both the gas and hybrid-powered models.
We’re expecting more specs when the car is officially unveiled, and we’ll reveal those details when they’re made public.
